The questions
"Our biggest client sent a 150-question ESG form. Who fills it in?" A question like that costs a small manufacturer around €5,000 and 120 hours of consultant fees. "The client's factory audit is in six weeks. How do we prepare?" Get it wrong and €50,000 in revenue is at risk.
None of them did anything wrong. They make good products. The system around them changed.
Why it lands on small companies
Large companies have always had the resources to do this work properly. They have CSO functions and specialist counsel and dedicated ESG teams. The expertise exists. It has simply never been accessible to companies without the budget to commission it.
What happens after the answer
Answering the questionnaire is the entry point. Once a company's record exists and is verified, it can be put to work: the savings, the grants and green loans, the better suppliers, the plan.
Where Steward fits
Steward handles that work end to end, from the first questionnaire to the transition plan, so a company can do what it does best.
